Keystone Astronomy is dedicated to exposing the
world to the wonders and majesty of the universe.
We provide educational experiences based on the
latest science from world-class astronomers,
astrophysicists, and others.
We offer an ever-expanding list of programs perfect
for school assemblies, PTA/PTO meetings, and Boy
and Girl Scout meetings. Best of all, these
assemblies are free of charge, although donations
are gratefully accepted.

The Cosmic Cycle: The Life and Death of Stars
Stars are giant balls of gas held together by their gravity.
They have different colors and sizes, and like humans, they
have a life cycle: Stars are born, grow old, and eventually
die. With these program resources, participants will learn
that:
- Stars form from clouds of dust and gas.
- Stars have life cycles.
- A star’s life cycle depends on its mass.
- The death of stars
Unveiling the Invisible: Journey through the
Electromagentic Spectrum
Astronomers learn about space objects by gathering and
analyzing their light. Since there is more than one type of light,
observations for multiple kinds of light from an object —
multiwavelength observations — are key to understanding the
object in depth. With this program, participants will learn that:
- The electromagnetic spectrum includes all types of light.
- Human eyes perceive visible light, only a tiny part of the
electromagnetic spectrum. - Objects in space may look different depending on the type of
light being observed, providing insight into their nature. - Different telescopes are used to observe different types of
light from space.
Odyssey of Discovery: A Journey through Our
Solar System
Our solar system contains various objects, including Astronomers
who learn about our cosmic neighborhood through various
planets, moons, dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets. With this
program, we will discover:
- Learn about the eight major planets and their characteristics.
- Discover the various dwarf planets in our neighborhood and
what makes them different. - Identify some of the unique moons in our cosmic
neighborhood. - Find out the characteristics of the asteroids and comets.
